So I hear from ManinRed how these boards of ours have the tendency to auto-edit certain words. Fine and dandy if you wish to have your children browsing the boards. But what if you want to use the word "c0ckpit"? See what I did there? That's a censor bypass. The zero can be read as an "o" in leetspeak. If I can still type the desired word with similar characters, the why edit them at all?
Isn't the internet a free place full of ideas? Where many, many users and people come together and share such ideas, why hinder this process? I really don't care much for swearing but hot d4m|\|, let us do as we wish! If I want, then I should swear as much as I need in order to get the point across.
I know of one forum where it's practically impossible to post anything. Your post must be near perfect. If not, then face deletion and some such garbage. They say knowledge is power. To use this power on the internet is great, yet some things just out right don't make sense.
Why in sam h311 must you formulate constructive critism for a post which will be forgotten?
Why must your ideas be near perfect? So they can be accepted? Bah!
Going back to the auto-edit, why must that feature exist? Aren't the guys and gals who use this over 13? Don't the creators of proboards know that swearing is everywhere?
The internet may give you power to shape anything you desire, but outside of it, you lose it. You go back to being a regular Joe. The internet =/= The real world. Anything you do here wont carry over to the real world. True, something may cause shock, but it's not permanent. Whatever you find here may shock the world, but it wont be "real".
That's it for this rant. Good night, everybody.
